APPROACH TO GOD
(we are conscious that we are coming into God’s presence)

Call to Worship

Praise: Hymn 25 Immortal invisible

1 Immortal, invisible, God only wise, in light inaccessible, hid from our eyes, most blessed and glorious, the Ancient of Days, almighty, victorious, Your great name we praise.

2 Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, nor wanting or wasting, You rule in Your might, Your justice like mountains high soaring above, like torrents your fountains of goodness and love.

3 To all things, life giving, to great and to small, in all ever-living, the true life of all; we blossom, then perish, as leaves on a tree, but You ever flourish and always shall be.

4 Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light, Your angels adore you, all veiling their sight; all praise we shall render;  make this Your decree: that You in Your splendour we ever shall see.

Affirmation of Faith: Heidelberg Catechism Q 1

A. That I am not my own, but belong—body and soul, in life and in death—to my faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.

Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.

THANKSGIVING
(we thank God for his faithfulness to us)

Praise & Offering: My soul finds rest – Psalm 62

My soul finds rest in God alone,
My Rock and my salvation;
A fortress strong against my foes,
And I will not be shaken.
Though lips may bless and hearts may curse, And lies like arrows pierce me,
I’ll fix my heart on righteousness,
I’ll look to Him who hears me.

O praise Him, hallelujah,
My Delight and my reward;
Everlasting, never failing,
My Redeemer, my God.

Find rest, my soul, in God alone
Amid the world’s temptations;
When evil seeks to take a hold
I’ll cling to my salvation.
Though riches come and riches go,
Don’t set your heart upon them;
The fields of hope in which I sow
Are harvested in heaven.

I’ll set my gaze on God alone
And trust in Him completely;
With every day pour out my soul
And He will prove His mercy.
Though life is but a fleeting breath,
A sigh too brief to measure,
My King has crushed the curse of death
And I am His forever.

O Praise him, O Praise him,        Hallelujah Hallelujah x3

Foundations of Faith –      Q 23,24

Praise: Hymn 29 My God is so big

1 My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing that He cannot do. My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing that He cannot do.

The rivers are His, the mountains are His, the stars are His handiwork too. My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing that He cannot do.

2 My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing that He cannot do. My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing that He cannot do.

 He’s called you to live, for Him every day, in all that you say and you do. My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, He can do all things through you.

Prayer

Praise: Sing Psalms 119: 169-176

169 Let my cry come before you, O LORD;   Give me insight as pledged in your word. 170 May my pleading gain access to you;   Save my life, as you promised to do.

171 May my lips overflow with your praise,   For you teach me your statutes always. 172 May my tongue sing aloud of your word;   Your commandments are righteous, O LORD.

173 May your hand be stretched out for my aid,   Since by choice your commands I’ve obeyed. 174 I desire your salvation to see,   And your law is delightful to me.

175 Let me live and I’ll praise you in song;   May your laws give me help to go on. 176 Seek your servant who strayed like a sheep,   For your precepts I steadfastly keep.

Benediction
