APPROACH TO GOD
(we are conscious that we are coming into God’s presence)

Call to Worship

Praise:  Sing Psalms 50: 1-7

1 The LORD, the Mighty One, is God alone.   He speaks and summons all the earth abroad   From rising of the sun to where it sets.  2 From Zion’s perfect beauty shines our God.

 3 Our God will not be silent—he will come;   Before him fire will burn and tempest rage.  4 He summons all the earth and heaven above,   That he may judge his folk, his heritage.

 5 “Now bring to me my consecrated ones,   Those who by sacrifice are pledged to me.”  6 The heavens will proclaim his righteousness,   For God himself is judge and none but he.

 7 “Hear, O my people, listen while I speak;   Against you, Isr’el, I will testify:   You are my people; I am God, your God.   Hear me as I address you from on high.

Affirmation of Faith: Heidelberg Catechism Q 1

Q. Christian, What is your only comfort in life and in death?

A. That I am not my own, but belong—body and soul, in life and in death—to my faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.

Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.

THANKSGIVING
(we thank God for his faithfulness to us)

Praise & Offering: Hymn 492 Before the throne of God above

1 1 Before the throne of God above I have a strong, a perfect plea: a great High Priest, whose name is Love, who ever lives and pleads for me. My name is written on His hands, my name is hidden in His heart; I know that while in heaven He stands no power can force me to depart, no power can force me to depart.

2 When Satan tempts me to despair and tells me of the guilt within, upward I look, and see Him there who made an end of all my sin. Because the sinless Saviour died, my sinful soul is counted free; for God, the just, is satisfied to look on Him and pardon me, to look on Him and pardon me.

3 Behold Him there!  the risen Lamb, my perfect, sinless Righteousness, the great unchangeable I AM, the King of glory and of grace! One with my Lord I cannot die: my soul is purchased by His blood, my life is safe with Christ on high, with Christ, my Saviour and my God, with Christ, my Saviour and my God.

Foundations of Faith –      Q 33, 34, 35

Praise: Bless the Lord O my soul (10000 reasons)

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name

The sun comes up
It’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass
And whatever lies before me
Let me be singing
When the evening comes

Bless the Lord oh my soul…

You’re rich in love
And You’re slow to anger
Your name is great
And Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness
I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons
For my heart to find

Bless the Lord oh my soul…

And on that day
When my strength is failing
The end draws near
And my time has come
Still my soul will
Sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years
And then forevermore

Bless the Lord oh my soul…

RESPONSE TO THE WORD
(we respond to the Word of God)

Prayer

Praise: My Souls finds rest in God alone Psalm 62

My soul finds rest in God alone,
My Rock and my salvation;
A fortress strong against my foes,
And I will not be shaken.
Though lips may bless and hearts may curse,
And lies like arrows pierce me,
I’ll fix my heart on righteousness,
I’ll look to Him who hears me.

O praise Him, hallelujah,
My Delight and my reward;
Everlasting, never failing,
My Redeemer, my God.

Find rest, my soul, in God alone
Amid the world’s temptations;
When evil seeks to take a hold
I’ll cling to my salvation.
Though riches come and riches go,
Don’t set your heart upon them;
The fields of hope in which I sow
Are harvested in heaven.

O praise Him, hallelujah,..

I’ll set my gaze on God alone
And trust in Him completely;
With every day pour out my soul
And He will prove His mercy.
Though life is but a fleeting breath,
A sigh too brief to measure,
My King has crushed the curse of death
And I am His forever.

O praise Him, hallelujah,…

O Praise him, O Praise Him, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. x3

O praise Him, hallelujah,…x2

Benediction
